Going green isn’t just good for the environment; it’s good for your business. Consumers want to be green, and they expect companies to lead the way.
But you don’t have to install solar panels or invest in eco-friendly products to make an environmental difference. You can think smaller and make a sustainable statement with your goodie bag! Here’s how:
• Go Bag-less
Only 1% of plastic bags get recycled, and the rest can take an estimated 500 years to decompose in a landfill.
Rethink your bag or go bag-less altogether! Try tying your dental goodies together with string, or keep everything in a basket and have patients pick and choose what they really need.
• Remove Extras
Aside from the standard toothbrush, floss and toothpaste sample, what else does your goodie bag actually need? Consider what extras may make sense, like mouthwash and lip balm, and what you can ditch, like an informational card or duplicate samples.
• Ask First
Offering a goodie bag gives patients a positive impression of your practice, but some are fine with the tools they have at home. Asking a patient if they would like a goodie bag in the first place gives them a choice, and ultimately saves you on cost and supplies.
